Job description : National Sales Manager



Position Specification:

The Company is a worldwide brand leader in fast moving consumer goods seeking to establish a stronger presence in the Chinese Market.  The company currently has 3 sales teams totaling 15 people in 3 major cities and a further 15 representatives working in second tier cities on a commission basis.  The company now seeks to recruit a National Sales Manager to oversea its future development and expansion in China.



Reports To: Commercial Manager

Responsible For: China Mainland retail sales to major local and international grocery chains, including:  Carrefour, Walmart, Tesco (Hymall),, Metro, Lianhua, CRE…….



Location: Shanghai



Strategic Responsibilities:

Develop business in China through effective direct sales team management and distributor development in accordance with company’s strategic development plan



Line Responsibilities:

-    Lead and supervise sales organization to fulfill company’s sales target and business development objectives in China



-    Develop sales strategy and sales staff modeling, conduct training for sales employee



-    Develop and maintain good relationship with key customers and implement sound key account management to ensure achievement of sales targets



-    Develop and motivate distributors to develop and enhance the sales in other sales channels and strive for new business opportunities



-    Conducts sales meetings and communicates sales strategy, pricing policy, action plan to the sales force;



-    Maintain accurate and updated sales, marketing data and competitors information, advise management on consumer trends and feedback



-     Plans, in co-operation with the manages, promotion, activities and   general trade marketing activities.



-    Monitor sales and marketing expenditure  and evaluate effectiveness of promotions vs objectives



-    Monitor close cooperation between sales team with accounting team to ensure on-time AR collection



-    Assist and involve in company ‘s strategy, annual budget and forecast set-up

Candidate Specification:

-    A local-PRC Chinese who is a university graduate preferably from the marketing or business discipline, who is good at spoken and written Chinese and English



-  Has good command of computer skills ( Windows XP, Microsoft office etc.)



-    Possesses more than 5 years of modern distribution experience in the FMCG industry (food or non-food), and understands how channels work



-    Probably aged below 35 years, and well versed in marketing and customer management, and day-to-day business management



-    Possesses experience in working with and managing distributors



-    Smart, energetic and with a high degree of initiative and is result-oriented



-    Articulate and intelligent with analytical thinking and problem- solving skills, to be numerate  



-    A good communicator with people both within and outside of the company.



-    An effective team leader, with a good presence which is able to impact and influence others.



-    Willing to commit a challenging career with the development of the company.
